Day -2, June 12, 2015: Today I traveled to
Astoria, Oregon. Leisa Rose was kind
enough to transport me to Bishop Airport in Flint. (Actually she appeared to be quite pleased to
do so.) Though my flight was not until to 1:00 p.m., she was up at 5:00 a.m.,
cheerful as she always is and was encouraging and actively assisting me in
getting ready to go (and as I heard her
say under her breath, “…..and be gone!”)
On the way to the airport we managed a brief visit with my Mother. As always it was good to see her. She is a true role model and an inspiration to me! I boarded a Delta flight to Minneapolis that arrived
on time and an hour later, after a quick dash to the other end of the airport
was heading to Portland. We arrived at
4:00 p.m., I caught the commuter train into Portland and by 6:00 p.m. I was on
a Greyhound bus to Astoria. By 9:00 p.m.
I was all checked in to the motel and went out for a bite to eat. It has been a long day of traveling and I am
looking forward to a good night’s sleep.

Glad you arrived safely in Oregon. I managed to arrive safely at the gourmet cupcake shop to get something to drown my sorrows with. I also made it to the Bay City Art Fair and felt like I was traveling the country when I tried to purchase an item from each vendor from the many states that were represented. Life without checks and balances (is good)!
